Late Roses and a Ring of Mums Around the Statue at Hershey Gardens

At Hershey Gardens in Hershey, Pennsylvania, the rose beds were still blooming while the trees overhead had begun to turn. Deep pink and red blossoms crowd the foreground, heavy on their stems. The lawn between the beds is cut short and scattered with a few fallen leaves. At the center, a sculpted figure balances a vessel on one shoulder above a round bed of mounded chrysanthemums in pink, peach, and cream. It is a small arrangement, but it pulls the whole garden into focus. Farther back, a white pergola and a wooden bench sit at the lawn's edge. An orange panel marked with a black spider adds a playful seasonal note. Above it all, the clouds glow apricot and rose, echoing the flowers below. The Nikon Z8 with the NIKKOR Z 14-30mm lens made room for both the close roses and the tall canopy rising into that colored sky.
